M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, directed by Neeraj Pandey was released on September 30, 2016, and the film was an instant hit with fans and became a fan favourite. Focusing on Dhoni’s childhood and upbringing, the part that the film gets right is that Dhoni was more interested in football than cricket during his school days.
Young Dhoni was acting as a wicket keeper and it was his childhood coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee who introduced him to cricket in search of a wicket keeper.
While showing his journey with the Indian cricket team, the film also showed a chance encounter between Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni before the two players joined Indian cricket together.
M.S. Dhoni untold Story Movie clearly shows the part where the two players face each other in the regional match where Yuvraj dominates the game with his indestructible bat. The film captures the struggle of the former Indian director where he is shown working as a ticket collector in Kharagpur, West Bengal to support his family.
Sushant introduced his character and became MSD, without imitating the cricketer too much. He even hits his signature helicopter shot in an inexplicable manner. The actor played the victory ball. The film boasts of an epic first half, which depicts Dhoni’s early struggles as an aspiring professional cricketer. It reminds you why players deserve to be famous and earn money.
Neeraj Pandey rekindled Ranchi’s life through Dhoni.
It keeps it real and relatable. The scene shot at Kharagpur railway station is striking. Sushant was seen trying to cross the sea of people. He is the one who goes against the grain, and sums up the journey of Dhoni’s life. The supporting actors deserve a special mention because their performances really touch your heart. The movie featuring Yuvraj Singh (Herry Tangri) is outstanding. However, the biopic loses momentum in the second half, and Dhoni’s love life takes on a lot of importance.
Also, questionable decisions or bad behavior of a cricketer are ignored. His tiff with leading players (Sehwag, Gambhir), his rivalry with Yuvraj Singh, his romantic relationship with the media, team politics and the criticism he sometimes faces, he finds no passing explanation. Like the biopic itself, this one-part take on the main character leaves you with a sense of unhappiness. But since you see the film through Dhoni’s eyes, it is right because you don’t see any flaws.
Biography of M.S Dhoni
Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand). He was brought up in a Hindu Rajput family. His parents belong to Lwali village in Lamgara block of Almora district, Uttarakhand.
Dhoni’s father, Pan Singh held a junior management position in MECON. Dhoni has a sister named Jayanti Gupta and a brother named Narendra Singh Dhoni. On July 4, 2010, Dhoni married his classmate of DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Sakshi Singh Rawat. The couple gave birth to a beautiful girl on 6 February 2015 and named her Ziva.

Their 45* and 85* against West Indies and Zimbabwe helped India on their way to the semi-finals. He scored 65 against Australia in the semi-final but could not stop the Australians from crushing India on their way to glory.

Dhoni played his last World Cup at the age of 38. This time, he is India’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament. Despite his effective batting against South Africa, Australia and West Indies, MSD was widely criticized for his strike rate and “lack of purpose”.
